Dathliadau Enwi ~ Naming Ceremonies
New beginnings. Fabulous welcomes. A grand debut.
Whether you’re introducing a new baby, welcoming an adopted child, blending families or marking a fresh chapter in life - I am here to celebrate it. I create personality-fuelled, modern Naming ceremonies - always with a touch of fabulous.
What is a naming ceremony?
Naming ceremonies have existed for centuries across cultures and continents. Long before formal religion, communities marked the arrival of a new child with rituals to celebrate life, honour parents, and welcome the baby into family and society.
In many faith traditions, naming ceremonies are also linked to religious inclusion. You might be familiar with a Baptism or Christening, Aqiqah in Islamic tradition, or Brit Milah and Simchat Bat in Jewish tradition. These rituals not only celebrate the arrival of a child but also formally welcome them into their religious community.
Naming ceremonies aren’t just for newborns. They can happen at many stages of life—from soon after birth to later milestones - sometimes reflecting survival through early infancy or marking transitions into new chapters.
The role of godparents or guardians is often central, symbolising community support. The naming itself carries meaning too, with names often reflecting identity, belonging, and ancestral connection.
While each tradition has its own rituals and significance, they share a common purpose: celebrating life, affirming identity, and surrounding a child with the love and support of their community.
Today, naming ceremonies continue this long tradition in a modern, personal way - bringing people together in love and celebration to welcome an individual. And the best part? There are no rules (which is exactly how I like it!).
If you’re planning a naming ceremony, I’d love to celebrate with you. Together - we’ll design a celebration as one-of-a-kind as your child, which will include:
